Are you getting antsy right about now?

Are you feeling that restless itch, the one that creeps in just as summer’s carefree, playful memories fade and we settle into a quieter season?

I feel it too.

We try to hunker down to embrace the coziness of autumn, savoring moments to pause and recharge. I picture myself curled up with a book in my favorite chair, tidying up my garden before winter, or de-cluttering my shoe closet (yes, I have big ambitions).

So, do I do all of that?

Well, ummm, sort of, but not for very long.

I like the idea of all the hunkering and can chip away at it here and there, but that is where the antsy creeps in.

Let’s be honest—staying put can only last so long before the stir-crazy kicks in.

By late October, I’m ready to shake things up, craving a change of scenery.

And it turns out that this urge isn’t just a whim.

Research published in JournalĀ Nature Neuroscience shows that varied experiences lead to more positive emotions than days spent in the same place.

In other words, a change of scenery isn’t just refreshing—it’s a boost for your liveliness, your spirit, your get-up-and-go, and overall mental well-being.

Think of it this way:

⭐ Breaks Monotony: A fresh environment refreshes your mind and outlook.

⭐ Boosts Motivation: New surroundings often bring new energy and enthusiasm.

⭐ Enhances Productivity: A shift, even if it’s small, can spark a new focus.

Changing scenery doesn’t have to be a grand adventure—it can be as simple as working in a different space to sneaking in a weekend away road trip in your calendar to changing the way your bed is facing – anything that shakes up the same day-in and day-out view.

I love knowing that a simple change of scenery can put that spring back in my step, and a little life vibrancy back in my cup.Ā

So here’s to fresh surroundings, brighter moods and living lively!Ā  —Treena x
