Say what?

You want me to juggle all these holiday balls and still have daily fun?

Yes. Yes, I do.
Well… I think you do too.

Hey Fun Friend, I know it feels like the holiday season hands us a whole new full-time job on top of our already full-time jobs.

I’m picturing hair on fire, socks on inside out, broken nails, piles of empty Amazon boxes waiting for recycling, and holiday cookie dough stuck to the ceiling.  🍪

Are you picturing this holiday chaos too? Or maybe you’re already in it.

But… actually, let me upgrade that “but” to a however… this is the exact moment to practice those daily fun habits I’ve been tossing your way all year.

Making sure your cup is vibrantly full each day can turn that chaotic holiday scene into more of a smooth-sailing, sunshine-filled one.  🎉

🔴You’ll have the energy to do the recycling.

🔴You’ll be more present and actually enjoy making those shortbread cookies.

🔴You might even care that you have matching socks on (okay… maybe that’s taking it too far).
You get the idea.

Here are my Top 5 tips and tricks to sneak in daily fun and keep holiday mania calm and enjoyable:

1) Make your holiday to-do list—and give yourself permission to drop 30% of it.You don’t have to do all your traditions. Do half. Pick up the other half next season.  Boom. You just gave yourself 30% more time for the fun you need.

2) Micro-doses of fun are pure holiday magic. Tiny bursts keep your energy high and your dopamine flying. Keep the TV off or the phone down and do some quick fun just for you.

Example: I literally just jumped on my bed like an 8-year-old for five minutes. It gave me the energy injection I needed for the rest of the night. Holiday magic with a little coo koo fun sprinkle on this one!

3) Remember your why-not vs. your why. Isn’t life about making memories together?

Let those spontaneous why nots win more often than the whys that come from staring at your to-do list. You won’t miss out on making the memories you love.

4) Bring your fun buddies into the holiday hustle. One of our family traditions is making perogies—and if you’ve ever made them, you know they take a loooooong time and an enormous amount of pinching patience.

So I make a night of it: invite my adult kids, offer takeout and vino, crank the music… and suddenly it’s a perogie party. Plus 250 perogies in the freezer ready for dinner.

5) Give the “gift of time.”No stressful shopping, no clutter—just the most precious thing we all have to give: time together.

Over the last few years, my gal pals and I give each other a weekend away or a day of time instead of presents. Spa escapes, fancy rooftop cocktail bar evenings, cozy PJ parties, anything goes… whatever fills the cup and doesn’t drain it.

❄️❄️❄️

You’ve got this! And I am right here with you.

Yes, I also have to keep myself in check when the holiday hair-on-fire chaos kicks in, as I never, ever —  want to miss all the fun.
