I have to confess it has been about ten plus years since I thought of writing a poem, let alone a love poem. Sorry honey! Hmmmm. A decade does seem like a long, long time to not be free flowing beautiful words from the deepest part of your heart and mind.
In fact, I think it has been equally long since I even read a love poem, period. Oh boy. I now ponder this question, are love poems still cool?
Just like all good researchers, I hit the ole google search bar and found this “for most people, poetry is something that they only interacted with back in a classroom setting, but on TikTok and Instagram, poetry is very much alive and well.”
And there it is! There they are. Poets are writing love poems enjoyed by millions of followers. As I got lost in the depths of socials scoping out all the love poem artistry with the other millions of followers – this truly says it all about love poems:
